MLR WELCOMES TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS
We’re excited to introduce you to the newest members of our Board of Directors! Their passion, experience, and commitment to our mission bring fresh energy and perspective as we continue building a stronger, more connected community.
Each new member brings a unique set of skills—from environmental stewardship and nonprofit leadership to community engagement and local knowledge. Together, they represent the diverse voices and values that make our work impactful.
We’re grateful for their willingness to serve and look forward to the contributions they’ll make in the months ahead. Here’s to new beginnings and continued progress!
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Darlene Pascua and Heidi Kuznitz.
Darlene and her husband fell in love with the Eastern Sierras during countless trips in their self-built camper van for rock climbing adventures, and decided to make the area home. With over a decade of nonprofit leadership experience, Darlene has spearheaded community engagement programs, fundraising initiatives, and strategic planning efforts that drive lasting impact. Darlene is excited to bring this experience and hands-on dedication to the Mammoth Lakes Recreation board.
In her downtime, Darlene loves heading outdoors with her rescue dogs to explore the breathtaking landscapes.
Born and raised in Crowley Lake, with deep roots in the Eastern Sierra, Heidi has a great appreciation for the natural beauty, outdoor lifestyle, and tight-knit community that make this region so special. Growing up in these mountains and this community has shaped her values and given her a lasting commitment to preserving and enhancing the recreational opportunities we all enjoy.
Following in the footsteps of her father, Heidi runs a small woodworking art business in Bishop where she creates handcrafted pieces inspired by the surrounding landscapes. Her work reflects not only a love for the outdoors but also belief in the power of creativity to bring people together. Building community and fostering creativity are central to everything she does—whether it’s through art, local collaborations, or everyday connections with neighbors.
