MLR + ARTS ON THE 4TH

Mammoth Lakes Recreation and Mono Arts Council (MAC) are pleased to announce that the Mammoth Lakes Arts on the 4th Festival will now be run by Mammoth Lakes Recreation. This 47-year event has been run by Mono Arts Council as a fundraiser for the non-profit since 2007. Mammoth Lakes Recreation is thrilled to continue the tradition of this event in our community.

Located in the parking lot of Footloose Sports, Arts on the 4th has been a staple event for the holiday weekend featuring artists from around the country showcasing everything from fine art to handmade goods in many mediums. Top-notch local music performances rotate through the festival at Marty’s Music Corner.

“We are grateful that our community has supported this event for so many years. Mono Arts Council is heading in a different direction with our events but we wanted to make sure that this long-standing festival was kept alive and in good hands.” says Kristin Reese, Executive Director, Mono Arts Council. “We are beyond thrilled that Mammoth Lakes Recreation has stepped up to take the reins. They have a proven track record in the Mammoth Lakes Community, and we have no doubt that they will continue the legacy of this event.”

“As Mammoth Lakes Recreation continues to grow and mature as a community non-profit committed to enhancing Recreation, Arts, Culture and Mobility, it is a natural fit for MLR to takeover the reins of this beloved event. We look forward to hosting a great event and increasing awareness of MLR’s work and how locals and visitors alike can partner with MLR in making our mountain community better for all. It should be a blast!” MLR Board President Craig Albright.

About Mono Arts Council

MAC provides visual and performing arts education for K-12 students in school, after school, and during the summer. We ensure every student in Mono County has access to this VITAL part of their education. Arts education increases test scores and attendance. Making art supports good mental health and provides opportunities for social-emotional learning. Our adult programs, including Art & Wine, the gallery, and the Mammoth Lakes Arts on the 4th Festival help us raise money and awareness for arts education and give local artists a place to showcase their talents
